About

About Family Visas

The Family Migration program is an important part of Australia’s immigration system. It promotes family unity, social cohesion, and cultural diversity. It also provides a pathway for eligible family members to live and work in Australia, contribute to the economy, and become part of the Australian community.

Who can apply

Eligibility

Family members of Australian citizens, permanent residents and eligible New Zealand citizens can apply to come to Australia either temporarily or to live permanently through the Family Migration Program.

Complex cases

Some applications need more care than others. That can be a previous refusal or cancellation, a health condition to disclose, a criminal record, time apart, or evidence that is hard to gather. We take these cases. We will tell you honestly what the application will need. We will also tell you if we think you would be better served elsewhere.
