This visa is for a person who is not a New Zealand citizen but is a member of a family unit of a New Zealand citizen. It lets you live and work in Australia for five years.
With this visa you can live, work and study in Australia for 5 years, and travel to and from Australia as many times as you want during this period.
You must not be a New Zealand citizen at the time of application, and meet other specific eligibility criteria.

About this visa
New Zealand Citizen Family Relationship Visa (Subclass 461) visa is designed for family members of NZ citizens who are not considered ‘eligible’ for sponsorship under other family migration visas.
A Subclass 461 visa allows the non-New Zealand citizen family member of an SCV-holding NZ citizen to live and work in Australia for up to five years, with renewals available. A partner (spouse or de facto) or a dependent child or stepchild can apply for this visa.
